These articles should be limited to a maximum of 6000 words or maximum 8 printed pages including a structured abstract of not more than 300 words and 8 figures and tables (combined).

Short communications

New and important information resulting from limited studies but of the same level as original research article will be considered for publication as short communication. These manuscripts should have the same format requirement as full paper but should be limited to maximum 3000 words or maximum 4 printed pages including a structured abstract of not more than 200 words and 4 figures and tables (combined).

Review articles

The results of various investigations in a given area of the pharmaceutical sciences submitted by expertise in the field by invitation of the editors may be considered for publication as review articles. These articles are not required to be divided into different sections but should have an abstract not more than 300 words and introduction sections. At list 10% of references of the review articles should be results of the author investigations published in internationally indexed journals.

Systematic reviews and meta-analyses

These articles should have standards of a systematic review and should be submitted by experts in the field specially by invitation of the editors. These articles are required have standard sections of Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion. The abstract should not be more than 300 words. At list 10% of references of the review articles should be results of the author investigations published in internationally indexed journals.

Editorials, expert opinion, and letters to editor

Opinions on professional subjects and the comments to the articles recently published in DARU Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (DARU J Pharm Sci) will be considered for publication as editorials, expert opinion, and letters to editor. Editorials should not have subtitles and should be limited to 1500-2000 words including maximum 1 figure or table.

Editorial Policy

All manuscripts will be examined by the Editor-in-Chief and if passed initial requirements, then one of the Associate Editors will be assigned to handle its peer review process. Main initial requirements include novelty of the study and paper, fitting in scope of journal, and full adherence to instruction guideline and ethical principles. DARU Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (DARU J Pharm Sci) reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not fulfill the criteria for submission of the manuscripts.

Submission of Manuscripts

Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts electronically, through http://daru.tums.ac.ir where detailed step by step instruction are stated.
A cover letter written by the corresponding author stating that the manuscript has not been published elsewhere (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis) and is not concurrently under review for publication elsewhere should accompany the manuscript. In the cover letter the role of each author are recommended to be described according to criteria noted at http://www.icmje.org/ethical_1author.html. If the manuscript is the outcome of a student thesis, it should be noted. For clinical trials, this journal requires registration in a public trials registry. The details of this policy are contained in http://www.icmje.org/publishing_10register.html.

When authors submit a manuscript, they are responsible for disclosing all financial and personal relationships that might bias their work. To prevent ambiguity, authors must state explicitly whether potential conflicts do or do not exist. Authors should note this in body of manuscript at acknowledgment section and also should do so in the cover letter (http://www.icmje.org/ethical_4conflicts.html).

Authors have to consider guidelines and recommendations of ethical points in publication as mentioned by Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE; http://www.publicationethics.org), World Association of Medical Editors (WAME; http://wame.org), International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (http://www.icmje.org/), and European Association of Science Editors (EASE; www.ease.org.uk).

All parts of manuscript including figures and tables should be prepared in single Word file.

Preparation of the manuscripts

The manuscript should be typed by Microsoft Office Word program. The font of Times New Roman size 12 and 1.5 line spacing should be used. The abbreviations should be defined as first come; and data should be presented in SI units.
All plant and microorganism's scientific names should be written in italic.
Generic or chemical names of drugs should be used in the text except for studies on comparative effects of different brands.
The manuscript should be organized as title page, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, conclusion, references, acknowledgments, tables, figures, and illustrations. Authors should state in the manuscript how they have adhered to ethical codes and the code number for approval in institute review board should be stated. The registration code of clinical trials needs to be stated.

Title page
This should include the title, the authors' names, affiliations, addresses, telephone and fax numbers and email address of the corresponding author, place where the work was undertaken and a short title for the running head. Background and the purpose of the study, methods, results and major conclusion.

Key words

The abstract should be followed by a maximum of 6 keywords in order of importance pertinent to the subject.

Introduction
This section should clearly define the purpose and importance of the research with special attention and suitably references to the background of the study.

Chemical terms should confirm to IUPAC rule. Experimental procedures should provide sufficient information to permit repetition of the work by other workers and /or gives references to the previously published methods.
