The principle of the procedure is the bleaching of the cobalt - 0"- nitrozo-R - naphthol complex. The oragne colored complex between the cobalt and the reagent is formed in an alkaline pH and is extractabie by chloroform. Beer.s law is obeyed at 4-24 ug sodium cyanide.
